British talent and programmes dominate the newly announced nominations for this year’s International Emmy Awards, with Olivia Colman up for best actress for her turn in Broadchurch.
In total, British shows and performers picked up six nominations – the most for any of the 19 competing countries – across 10 categories
Independent production house Kudos has three shows in contention, two of them – Channel 4’s Utopia and Sky Atlantic’s Anglo-French crime drama The Tunnel – competing for recognition as best drama series.
Kudos’ crime drama Broadchurch earns Coleman, with Stephen Dillane up for best actor for The Tunnel.
Scripted by Mark Gatiss to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dr Who, the BBC’s An Adventure in Space and Time competes in the TV movie/miniseries category.
Winners will be announced at a gala ceremony in New York on November 24.
